Zora Neale Hurston

Zora Neale Hurston: 'Love is like the sea, it's a moving thing, it
takes its shape from the shore it meets, and it's different with every
shore.'"

What if you could be anything, or anybody, you chose to be? Think
about it. What would you choose to be?

Richard Rohr

"The journey to happiness involves finding the courage to go deep into ourselves and taking responsability for what's there: all of it. "

- Richard Rohr

Well, ain't that a hard one. At any point in life we may be pushed around by opinions on what would make us happy, opinions that are so loud in our heads we can't hear ourselves. It's difficult, then, to stop and take ourselves outside the world of those who love us or simply live around us and take the time to listen to our silence. When all other noise ceases the steady beat of our passions and joys become audible. But we have to get quiet first. And often, there isn't a reason for them.

Jack Kerouac

"Great things are not accomplished by those who yield to trends and fads and popular opinion."

-Jack Kerouac

I think we may as well admit that yielding is generally a matter of time for us all. Even if we initial rebel and succeed, our trend becomes THE trend. It takes practice to become away of this and become a radical. It takes even more courage. But this is something in life that should go hand-in-hand with that idea of strength being the strength to stand up after falling/failing. We can't rebel all the time. But we CAN rebel at any time.

A Prodigal's Dilemma

"I should be all for running away and never returning. That would save me from myself.

But no matter how far you run you can never escape your mind, your body, your heart."

BRITNI THEVADGEWIG

"Where's the shame in knowing you'll be spending the night elsewhere and being prepared for the next morning?

How about you rename this kit something less slut-shaming? How about "Walk of 'Motherfuckers, I Just Got Laid!'" Or "Walk of 'I'm a Sexually Liberated Woman, Thankyouverymuch'?" Or "Walk of 'Where I Spent the Night is None of Your Goddamn Business'?" Because I'm way over the practice of telling women that spending the night with someone is something to be ashamed of."

"I have a confession to make. . .

I think I'm beautiful.

Because I am.

I honestly can't comprehend why women hate their bodies, their faces, their hair, their boobs, the minuscule details that they pick apart in the mirror.

I've tried to get it. But, I don't. Maybe that's a good thing."

-Tracee Sioux (I think)

Brietta

I'm kinda sick of the idea that anything made by a woman is automatically geared only at women, because apparently only men can send universal messages.

You've got to say, I think that if I keep working at this and want it badley enough I can have it. It's called perseverance.
